STONE TIGER SIGNATURE TAG

For this tutorial, you will need
Paint Shop Pro 8 or demo which can be downloaded here.
The white tiger psp tube image, the rock texture
pattern, the paw psp image and the picture stand tube can be downloaded
here.
The font used for this signature tag is called
Harrington and can be downloaded
here.
MAKING THE TAG
Step 1
Open up a 400 x 400 transparent image. Also open
up this rock texture graphic.

Step 2
At the Material palette, left click the bottom color box and locate the
rock texture image. In the top color box, set it to null.
Step 3
Left click preset shape tool and locate the
rounded rectangle. At the preset shape tool ribbon, none of the boxes should be
checked. The only setting you need is to make the line width 1.
Holding down the left mouse key, draw a
rectangle going from left to right and down covering most of the transparent graphic.
Step 4
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner bevel and use
these settings:

Your stone tag should now look like this:

Step 5
Open up the paw psp image and go to
Selections/Select All and then Selections/Float so that you have those ants
marching around the paw only. Keep those ants marching.
Step 6
Go to Layers/New Raster Layer. On the new layer,
go to
Effects/3D Effects/Cutout using these settings:
Horizontal/Vertical 4 Opacity 100 Blur 8 Color Black
Go back and do the cutout again but change Horizontal
and Vertical to -4. Those ants should still be marching around the paw.
Step 7
We will now delete the Floating Selection layer and
the Raster
1 layer of the paw and only keep the Raster 2 layer - which is the paw with the
cutout effect. This is what your layer palette will look like:

To delete the Raster 1 and Floating selection layers, right click on the Raster 2 layer and a menu will appear.
Go to delete
and left click. Do the same for the Floating Selection Layer. Once you have
deleted these two layers, go to
Selections/Select None so that those ants will stop marching around the paw.
Your paw should now look like this with a cutout
effect.

Step 8
Left click the cutout paw and go to Edit/Copy.
Left click the stone tag and go to Edit/Paste as New Selection and place the cutout paw wherever you like. Go back to Edit/Paste as New Selection and add
another cutout paw. You can add as many or as little as you like for the look
you want to achieve. When you are done adding the paws go to Selections/Select
None to stop those ants from marching.
The stone tiger signature tag should now look
like this:

Step 9
Go to Layers/Duplicate. Make sure you are
now on Raster Layer 1 (the bottom Layer). Left click the Eye on Copy
Raster 1 so a red x appears and that layer will be closed off for now.
Step 10
Open up the white tiger psp image and go to
Edit/Copy and then go to the stone tag's Raster Layer 1 and go to Edit/Paste as
New Selection.
Once you have the selection where you want it, go to Selections/Select None.

Step 11
Left click on the red x on Copy of Raster 1, to
open up that layer and you no longer will see the white tiger. On
Copy of Raster 1, move the opacity setting to
about 50 or until you can see the tiger blended within the rock texture. Go to
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.
Your stone tiger tag should now look like this:

Step 12
Open a new transparent image 500 width x 500
height. Open up the picture stand psp image. Left click the picture stand image
and go to Edit/Copy and then left click the transparent image and go to
Edit/Paste as New Layer and move the picture stand down toward the bottom of the
transparent image.
Step 13
Go to the stone tiger tag and click Edit/Copy
then go to the transparent image with the picture stand and go Edit/Paste as New
Layer. Move the Stone tiger tag so that it is placed over the picture
stand. You will see that the stone tiger tag needs to be resized somewhat so
that it is in proportion with the picture stand.
Step 14
Make sure you are on the layer with the stone
tiger tag on it and go to Image/Resize. Use Percentage Option at 80%.
Choose for Resample: Bicubic. Lock aspect ratio should be
checked and
DO NOT HAVE ALL LAYERS CHECKED. Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.
Step 15
Left click the crop tool and crop off the blank areas of the tag. Your tag is
essentially done except we need to add some text.

**To save as a transparent gif** - **Optional
Step**
**Step 16 - Optional - If you want
to save your completed signature tag as a transparent gif, you will need to do
the following:

now have your pink layer or light color layer beneath the signature tag.
Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible and proceed with
the Text.
After adding the text, at this point, make your
graphic transparent.
ADDING THE TEXT
Step 1
Be sure you are now on the top Layer to add your
text. At the Material palette, make the top color box black and the bottom
color box white.

Step 5
Go to Selections/Select None to stop those ants
from moving.
Save your signature tag as a jpg or a transparent
gif.
This method of blending images can produce
dramatic effects that will enhance your graphics.
