A tutorial in PSPV7
 
 

You will need  EC3 for this and you can d/l  it from here
 
 
 

Open a new transparent image 200 x 200 or the size you prefer
add a new raster layer and flood with the colour of your choice
( I have used black )

 on layer 2 with your draw tool set to these settings  

  Using the  colour of your choice draw something like this 

                                                           (don't lift your tool off the canvas untill you have completed the drawing)

now apply EC3's jiggle filter with these settings 

 Duplicate layer 2 a few times 

                                          (I have renamed theduplicate layers to 3 and 4)
 
 

On layer 2 apply the lighting effect  with these settings

on layers 3 and 4 leave the settings the same, changing the colour on each layer to something of your choice
 

On layer 3 using the deformation tool you can change the direction or shape to whatever you want
( holding down control key while clicking on a corner node gives you more options and the same if you hold down the shift while clicking on a node)

Do the same with layer 4

Now play with the opacity slider on each layer  and find an effect that is pleasing to you
Add some logs, stones, etc under your fire
