PHOTOIMPACT

Page 1

PhotoImpact has many ways of adding painterly effects to photos. For the first example, I am going to use one of the natural painting effects. The picture below shows where you will find this on the menu. You will see from this that I have some extra plugins that you may not have with your copy of PhotoImpact. These are some I have added. But for this tutorial I shall use only the ones that are built into PhotoImpact 7.

I have chosen the watercolour effect. When you open the menu option, this is the screen you get.

You can choose any of the presets, or you can hit the options button on the preset page and set the stroke size and moisture level yourself.

I set the stroke size at large, and the moisture level at 100, to give the most extreme effect you can have - the moisture level goes no higher than 80 in the presets. This gave me this picture

Who would have guessed that this was originally a fuzzy photo?

We will move on now to look at some effects in PhotoImpact's creative painting.
